In 2008, World of Wonder Childcare Center established itself in the Southwest area of Hoboken. After eight years, we expanded into our 2nd location, and in early 2023, we opened our 3rd center. We are proud of our reputation in town and work endlessly to maintain a loving and fun environment for the children, their parents, and our staff.

Who are we looking for?

Full time Director

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations, program development, staff management, and overall well-being of a childcare facility. This role requires a strong combination of administrative skills, early childhood education knowledge, and a commitment to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children.

What do we require?

  • Willing to obtain CPR & First Aid within the first 30 days.
  • CDA, AA, BA, and Bachelor's degree is a must
  • must be available to work 40 weekly hours
  • Agree to 9:30 am – 6:30 pm schedule for the first year of employment

Center Details:

  • Open Monday - Friday
  • 7:30 am - 6:30 pm
  • Closed nights, weekends and 14 major holidays

  • If requested, submit 2 references and schedule a working interview. Working interview takes place Monday-Friday and lasts 3 hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Development:

  • Design and implement developmentally appropriate curricula, activities, and learning experiences that align with the facility's philosophy and educational goals.
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Continuously assess and improve the curriculum to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with best practices in early childhood education.

Staff Management:

  • Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their teaching skills and knowledge of child development.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and performance reviews, providing feedback and guidance to promote growth and excellence among the staff.

Administrative Duties:

  • Develop and manage the facility's budget, ensuring responsible allocation of resources and adherence to financial goals.
  • Maintain accurate records, including enrollment, attendance, medical information, and staff certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, safety, and regulatory requirements set forth by local and state authorities.

Parent and Community Engagement:

  • Establish strong communication channels with parents, fostering open dialogue and providing updates on their child's progress.
  • Organize and lead parent-teacher conferences, orientations, and other events to promote family involvement.
  • Collaborate with community organizations and resources to enhance the childcare center's offerings and visibility.

Health and Safety:

  • Implement and enforce rigorous health and safety protocols, including emergency preparedness plans and procedures.
  • Regularly inspect the facility to identify and address potential hazards or maintenance needs.
  • Ensure that all staff members are trained in first aid, CPR, and other essential safety procedures.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with trends and developments in early childhood education, incorporating new approaches and best practices into the program.
  • Seek feedback from staff, parents, and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
